Information for Citizens of the "Old Confederacy"

The "Let Us Vote" flag rally was well attended by hundreds of Georgians. All of these people took time off from work to come down here to Atlanta to show legislators that the flag issue not over. The march stretched for about a half mile heading up toward the capital. Everyone was chanting "Sonny Lied" and "Let Us Vote" (Short Video) during the march. The big shock to all was when participants tried to enter the capital only to be told flags were not welcome. They informed everyone that if you wanted to enter the building the flags would have to be left behind. Many did just that but there were also many who did not give in to the apparent strong arm tactics used by Georgia state troopers and Capital police. Dan Coleman, public relations officer said one officer was threatening to put him in cuffs when he tried to explain that the SCV had obtained permission to allow flags in the building. Most people in attendance had been to rally's before and had never experienced such treatment. It was an eye opening experience, being treated in such a manner by employees of the state where our taxes provide their jobs.

2 Young Ladies Carry Huge Flag

The long line of flag supporters

This man removed his flag from the pole only to be told a folded flag would not be allowed. This man made it past the first line of security only to be rejected by the angry capital police.
A lonesome stack of poles and flags that were not allowed into the building by capital police. This will be the lasting memory of this event.
